JAC Targets Hong Kong’s Truck Market with New 5.5-ton and 9.5-ton Twin-Cabin Trucks
JAC, a major player in the Hong Kong truck market, has long offered its 5.5-ton light-duty and 9.5-ton medium-duty trucks, typically featuring single-row seat cabs. This design has made it challenging for logistics or construction workers who require additional seating for crew members, forcing them to rely on aftermarket modifications like adding “cages” for passengers, often at the expense of cargo space.
To meet the industry’s needs, JAC has introduced new versions of its trucks equipped with factory-standard “twin-cabin” configurations, eliminating the need for such modifications and offering a more efficient solution.
The newly arrived JAC “twin-cabin” trucks include the 5.5-ton N55DC and the 9.5-ton N95DC, with the N55DC available in two different lengths: 5,872mm and 6,940mm. These trucks feature a factory-produced double-row seating cabin with ample space in the rear, as well as factory-standard rear air conditioning, electric windows, handrails, footrests for easier entry and exit, and a non-slip floor mat for easier cleaning.
In terms of performance, the N95DC (9.5-ton truck) is powered by a 4.0-liter, 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine manufactured by Cummins, meeting Euro VI emission standards. It delivers 163 horsepower and 585Nm of torque, paired with a six-speed manual transmission and full air braking system. The N55DC, on the other hand, features a 3.0-liter, 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine with AdBlue urea to comply with Euro VI emission standards, delivering 152 horsepower and 420Nm of torque.
